Who can participate?

Are there tryouts?
No, there are no tryouts. However, swimmers should be comfortable swimming two laps of the pool (50 yards) without holding onto the lane lines for assistance.
How long is the season?
The DHS swim season runs from mid-October to beginning of February. Specific dates and the meet schedule will be announced at the informational meeting in September.
When and where are practices?
Last year we practiced before school at Agnes Scott College. We do not know what the practice schedule will be this year. More specific details will be announced at the informational meeting in September.
What do I need in order to participate?
All swimmers must have current physicals signed by a doctor on file in order to participate. More info about how to submit these physicals will be posted at a later date and shared at the informational meeting in September.
What are families expected to purchase?
All swimmers must have a team suit and a team cap to wear during competitions. Details about how to order these will be shared at the September informational meeting. Families ARE expected to purchase these items (team suit and team cap) as well as goggles. Families are NOT expected to purchase equipment (such as kickboards, pull buoys, and flippers), we will provide these for the swimmers.
Are there team dues?
Yes. The team dues are used to purchase “team swag” for the swimmers (such as sweatshirts and shirts). If a family is not able to pay the full cost of team dues, your swimmer WILL STILL BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE, we just ask that you speak with Coach Kim before the season starts about this matter. The cost of team dues will be announced at the September informational meeting.
